The Producer
The family domaine traces its roots back to the 1950s. Georges Berthoux took over from his father in 1958, managing both viticulture and sheep farming. By 1993, he chose to dedicate himself entirely to winemaking, expanding the vineyard across Jambles, Givry, and Mercurey. Today, the estate is known for producing honest, terroir-driven wines from the Côte Chalonnaise.
Origin & Production
100% Pinot Noir grown on clay-limestone soils in the Givry appellation. The wine is aged for 9–10 months in oak barrels using traditional methods and bottled after light filtration.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Bright carmine to purple robe with vivid violet hues.
Nose: Aromas of violets, wild strawberries, and blackberries, with hints of licorice, game, and spice.
Palate: Firm tannic structure in its youth, evolving into a rounder, softer texture with 3 to 5 years of aging. A wine of character and freshness.
