The Producer
David Duband, a passionate winemaker devoted to living wines, has been leading his estate organically since the 1990s. He is known for his whole-cluster fermentations and delicate extraction methods that reveal the full potential of Burgundy’s climats. This Premier Cru wine comes from a small 0.23-hectare parcel planted with 45-year-old vines on limestone-rich soils.
Origin & Production
Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the 2022 vintage was vinified with 80% whole bunches to preserve freshness and enhance aromatic complexity. Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, using both new and used casks, without fining or filtration.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Deep carmine red with shimmering highlights.
Nose: Intensely perfumed with dark and red berry fruit, hints of black cherry jam, exotic spices, truffle, and forest floor.
Palate: Broad and powerful with firm yet ripe tannins. Offers a layered and dense mouthfeel with pomegranate, earthy spice, and savory minerality. The oak is present but integrating well, leading to a persistent, elegant finish.
Serving
Serve at 16–17 °C. Decant for 30–60 minutes if opened young.
Food Pairing
A superb match for dishes like roasted duck with five-spice, veal with truffle sauce, pigeon, or wild mushroom fricassée. Complements aged soft cheeses such as Époisses or Brillat-Savarin.
