The Producer
Founded by Pierre Duband in 1965 and passed on to David Duband in 1991, the domaine now spans 27 hectares across prestigious Côte de Nuits sites. Since 2008, David has embraced whole-cluster vinification, organic farming, and minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. His wines are renowned for their purity, energy, and elegance, and are staples in Michelin-starred restaurants.
Origin & Production
100% Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny, a village known for finesse and aromatic complexity. Grapes are harvested by hand, sorted on vibrating tables, and vinified with 60–90% whole bunches. No commercial yeasts are added. Aged 14 months in French oak barrels, 30–40% new, and bottled without fining or filtration.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Bright ruby with translucent clarity.
Nose: Red cherry, rose petals, subtle spice, and chalky minerality.
Palate: Silky and precise with refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, floral finish. A wine of delicacy and quiet power.
Serving
Serve at 16–17 °C. Decant if young to allow full aromatic expression.
Food Pairing
Ideal with veal carpaccio, Bresse chicken with morels, or pan-seared duck breast. Also pairs beautifully with mushroom ravioli, roast quail, and semi-aged cheeses like Reblochon or Saint-Marcellin.
