An Iconic, Delicate, and Complex Vintage Champagne
Named after the renowned monk Pierre Pérignon, who became cellar master of the Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668, Dom Pérignon Champagne embodies a rich heritage and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. This visionary monk is often credited with discovering the méthode champenoise, a milestone in Champagne history.
Dom Pérignon’s commitment to quality and innovation lives on today, led by its current Chef de Cave, Vincent Chaperon, who took over in 2019. The house’s philosophy, focused on expressing each vintage, reflects an ambition to create “the best wine in the world,” an objective that has remained unchanged since Dom Pierre Pérignon’s appointment as cellarer of the Abbey of Hautvillers.
A symbol of timeless prestige, Dom Pérignon crafts only vintage champagnes that reveal the singular character of a single year. Each cuvée is an exercise in precision, balance, and tension, expressing the full potential of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the most exceptional Grand Cru vineyards.
Following a mild winter, 2015 was marked by numerous contrasts: a frigid spring gave way to a prolonged heatwave from mid-May to mid-August, with exceptional sunshine and drought conditions. Life-saving rainfall at the end of August allowed for optimal ripening, producing grapes of remarkable generosity and balance. The winemaking process at Dom Pérignon strictly adheres to the principles of the méthode champenoise, with an unwavering commitment to faithfully expressing each vintage’s character.
Extended cellar maturation, far exceeding the appellation standards, enables this 2015 vintage to develop its complexity and aromatic depth. This exceptional Champagne is the result of a secret blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
