Fleur de Miraval is the only Champagne house exclusively devoted to rosé champagne. It is the result of an ambitious project created by the collaboration between the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin families. Conceived with the same philosophy as an artistic creation—and with the full involvement of Brad Pitt—Fleur de Miraval is the culmination of five years of work and research carried out in the utmost secrecy. Located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in Champagne for six generations and producing estate-bottled champagnes since 1919, the Péters family joined the venture, bringing their expertise and winegrowing know-how. As an admirer of Château de Beaucastel wines and a friend of the Perrin family, Rodolphe Péters worked closely on the project.
The Wine
Fleur de Miraval ER1, which stands for “Édition Rosé Number 1,” was born from the desire to create a rosé champagne with a unique style by combining old-vine Chardonnay and young-vine Pinot Noir. This cuvée also pays tribute to the Comtesse de Miraval, born in Provence, who, according to legend, drank only rosé champagne.
A rare and exceptional wine, Fleur de Miraval Édition Rosé is available in limited quantities, with just 20,000 bottles produced for this first edition. To protect the wine from light until opening, each bottle of Fleur de Miraval is lacquered. ER1 is the inaugural release in a collection that will unfold over the years.
Vinification and Aging
This rosé champagne benefits from three years of aging on the lees before release.
Blend
Fleur de Miraval ER1 is made from a blend of 75% Chardonnay of various ages and 25% young Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
Fleur de Miraval Édition Rosé ER1 displays a delicate, pale pink hue. On the nose, it offers an energetic and refined aromatic bouquet with bright notes of fresh, tangy red berries such as redcurrant and raspberry. The full nobility of the Chardonnay emerges with mineral, saline, and iodized nuances that evoke the identity of the great chalky terroirs.
